The ACAR (anomalous containment and research) corporation is an international secret corporation that is dedicated to the understanding and ways anomalous objects exist and interact with traditional life.

Although seeming benevolent on the surface with its goals in line of what many would consider a perfect future or integration and cooperation with these objects, the way this is accomplished by them may be seen as cruel or even malevolent. In the shadowy universe of the ACAR corporation, nothing good can be achieved without sacrifice.

Department of Security: Those who protect facilities from AOs and NAGs, but also make sure tests run smoothly.

Departments of Internal Security: Those who are completely dedicated to the corporation and wish to help in rooting out moles from other NAGs.

SCT/FOT task forces:

SCT Alpha-1 ("The gunners")

A team of highly trained Operators that fight in conventional warfare against NAGs and AOs.

SCT Alpha-2 ("The four horsemen")

The best of the best from every SCT and FOT are selected to join Alpha-2. They are the go-to for facility-wide breaches and are directly under Omega-1.

FOT Alpha-3 ("Blackbeard's fist")

Aquatic specialists that are housed in Facility 04 and deployed to track down and contain nautical anomalies.

FOT/SCT Bravo-1 ("The madhatters")

Team of radiological and biological specialists. Joint team of FOT and SCT.

FOT Bravo-2 ("Wonderland wizards")

A team of highly trained operatives that go into unmapped and anomalous locations to contain dangerous AOs. They are also sent in to set up secure areas for further research and in case of more anomalous activity is detected.

FOT Lambda-5 ("The watchers")

A large scale team comprised of media experts, track down leaks relating to the ACAR or anomalies and attempt to either cover them up or debunk them.

SCT Lambda-1 ("The big birds")

A team of field operatives that specialise in the tracking and capture of avaian AOs.

FOT Omega-1 ("The ghosts")

The personal FOT and security for the administration. Highly classified and avoids exposure as much as possible.

FOT Omega-2 ("The hand of god")

The personal judges, jury and executioners of the ACAR. Only take orders from the department of ethics and have permission to eliminate any personnel deemed corrupt or a security risk.

NAGs:

BAI (buero of anomalous investigation): A US government funded group that while seemingly would be allied with the ACAR, they often comes to blows because of them encountering eachother and fighting over AOs.

CEA (Collectors Edition Anomalies): A mysterious and seeming pragmatic collective that obtains and distributes AOs across the world to people.

I HATE TORTOISES: A strange and seemingly highly dangerous group that notes themselves responsible for creating AOs. This is most likely false but reports of AOs being spontaneously created and delivered by them make them a serious threat to global security.

Technology:

While the main goal of the ACAR corporation is to integrate and use AOs, there is still a limited amount of them and so most forces use regular weaponry such as assault rifles, shotguns, snipers, pistols, sub machine guns, etc. The universe is more grounded with technology with there of course being exceptions.

Scale of the ACAR and current setting:

The ACAR corporation operates on a global scale and have facilities around the earth that require constant upkeep, security and research being done. To keep this up, they hire hundreds if not thousands of employees annually, ranging from the humble janitor to global administration.

The year in the main timeline is 2022 but this year can be changed depending on if a legend or article takes place in the past or future.

Secure facility key:

Facility: The most famous and versatile station the ACAR corporation has. Ranging from a single building to an entire subterranean complex of staff dorms, containment areas, mess halls, recreational areas and labs, facilities have it all.

Outpost: a small area, typically one to two buildings that are built around a stationary AO or to observe potential AOs in a region. They typically are away from civilisations in places like national parks or mountains.

Safe house: typically dotted around major centers of population like cities and towns, a safe house is a secretive location where a field agent or team can receive a debrief or rearm themselves. They usually do not have a permanent staff inside and can be left deserted for potentially years before being used once again.

Training area: Training areas are areas specially used for training personnel like SCTs and FOTs. They also train security and researchers, though those are usually done within sites that have lecture halls and appropriate facilities.

Powers and scales of the verse:

A completely immortal and impervious entity is not possible within the ACAR universe as to maintain balance.

An human or anomaly may be born with psychic powers but those only extend to detection of AOs or accessing memories.

The verse is *technically* not contained within a single universe and is instead a multiverse of infinite possibilities that follow the same rules. There are also alternate dimensions that are accessible through the material world.

The rules of AOs:

An AO (anomalous object) is a being or object that the ACAR is aware of. They are not numbered sequentially and are can be any number but researchers find it far easier and more nicer looking if done so. AO-1 is *not* a real anomaly but is instead a group of different proposals under one classification to be a smokescreen.

Non AO articles:

Non AO articles consist of legends (short stories), test reports (connected to an already existing AO) and battle actions (breach and confrontations with AOs and NAGs).

Legends are short stories set within the ACAR universe that go over many topics and can be used in continuity with another legend.

Test reports are short in-universe documents that describe test runs on AOs and their aftermath. These are to be connected to an already existing anomaly.

Battle actions are tactical overviews and debriefs of containment breaches and conflicts with NAGs. They list all involved teams, factions and actions taken.

Mythology and religion:

Many cults that operate within the universe of the ACAR corporation are sometimes able to summon other worldly beings from different dimensions. They also may worship specific AOs, believing them to be holy prophets or gifts.

Continuity:

The most important thing, a clear and coherent story. Sadly, the ACAR universe doesn't have one. This is because, giving authors greater freedom for their stories, allowing "what if" scenarios and most importantly, not having to read every previous article to create a story.

The Nuuk nexus: located in Nuuk, Greenland, home of the continuity/narrative.
