Answer: Check if you have Direct3D 9 or later. the game runs on Direct3D 9 so it runs alot of extensions that make the game look Nicer/accurate.

I knew i wasn't crazy. I was there during the 3.0 development era, using an old phone. I can't even remember but I SWEAR i recall Purity Sin saying this was a thing. I have a weird image in my mind of a youtube livestream showing the roof, but thats all.
