AdventureJam 2015 Retrospective

Hi people!

Unfortunately this post doesn’t have much in the way of information on Above The Waves’ development, but it will hopefully be interesting nonetheless!

In anticipation of AdventureJam 2016, I’ve put together a retrospective look at last year’s jam, it’s origins, its games and its outcomes.

Be warned, it’s a long article. It’s a good one though, and touches on everything ranging from the judges’ processes for bestowing awards to the games that have had continued development outside of the jam, what tools and engines were used and right down to why AdventureJam exists in the first place.

I hope that you enjoy it and that it stirs up memories of and enthusiasm for making cool games!

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

Another house i made long time ago.

Today I was setting up the location of the first boss. His name is "Father" and he is the first of the Patagonians. His task is to guard the road to the House.🛡🗡 Bookmark pre-launch page🔖🔖🔖

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.

Why walk when you can jump?

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Drawn in Piskel using my mouse. Whaddya think?

My D&D art for my family so far (WIP if you couldn't tell)
