🕹️ Small Step Forward
Dear players,
It’s been a long time since my last update — in that post, I shared some plans for Patch 4.0.3, which was meant to include improved sprite sharpness and unlockable backgrounds for the character select screen.
Those ideas were real, and the excitement was genuine... but as the years went by, life brought new responsibilities — and with them, new priorities. Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Earth had to take a step back while I focused on personal and professional growth.
Still, this project never truly left my mind — and today, I’m releasing a small but meaningful update.
When I first created MKDOTE, the goal was simple: to build an epic and exciting Mortal Kombat experience that honored the classics. Using Mortal Kombat Project Season 2 Final as a base made that dream possible — it provided a strong foundation, characters, and core mechanics to bring the game to life.
But with that also came some inherited content that, in retrospect, doesn’t fully reflect what I’d like to share today.
So with this patch, I’ve decided to remove a legacy animation from a character to better align the game with the values I now hold. It’s a small change, but one that brings me peace — and hopefully offers a cleaner experience for new and returning players alike.
The game has already been shared across the web, and I can’t change what’s out there — but I can take responsibility for the official version, and that’s exactly what this update is about.
Thanks for your continued support, patience, and for being part of this journey.
I can’t promise a full return… but maybe this is the start of a new round.
