| THE FALLEN
Everything faded to eigengrau, then went darker. If static was a color, that's what could be seen. Everything felt numb, there was no sensation of pain. Breathing didn't feel like an action being done. Air couldnt be sensed within the body. The texture of saliva felt like nothing.
Everyone around Charlotte were caught in genuine shock, taken aback from what they just saw. Charlie had directed her wrist away from him as she shot into the air. Charlotte struggled to release herself, as then all the grunts collectively aimed towards Charlie to release Charlotte, and shot at him. In the blink of an eye, both him and Charlotte had disappeared until they heard a scream from above them soon after. They all directed their attention upwards to see both Charlie and Charlotte in the air like as if they were floating. Charlotte in genuine fear while staring down at the ground at her fellow group members. Charlie looked at the expression Charlotte had in the face before gripping her wrist tightly to release her gun, causing Charlotte to gasp. Before Charlotte could properly react, Charlie began to spin in the air at high speed and launched her at fast velocity toward a dumpster below which trapped her in it while it rolled down the alleyway, away from the rest of her group. As she was away from the area below, Charlie analyzed the quantity of team members below before deciding to drop down to them with increasing acceleration until slamming onto the ground, causing a crater on the formed as well as causing a massive rough gust of wind to blow anyone in range away.
Charlie stood up unscathed, but with the bullet wounds still clearly taking a toll on his reflex and movement. Soon after, one by one the grunts got back up onto their feet to try and attack at him, only to have him disappear before them and reappear behind them only to be met with a violent strike, varying from a hole through the chest, slashed, or punched severely and launched hard against any surface pointed toward the general direction he swung. Kyofu got up from the ground, he looked over his shoulder to see blood spilt across the walls, with Chsrlie facing away from him. His back moved along to his breathing, it was slow and deliberate. Slowly, he turned his head over his shoulder to see Kyofu, to which led to him running away with all the energy he had left while Charlie was still idle. Before he could react, he was being shot from behind by grunts that were still conscious even through Charlie's attacks, which allowed Kyofu to speed down the alleyway to Charlotte. He eventually found himself at the dumpster which had her trapped in there. He lifted the lid to see Charlotte groaning in discomfort. "Cheif, are you okay?" He said while offering a hand to her. "Yes, I'm fine... just sore from the head..." She grabbed onto his palm as he pulled her out from the dumpster and onto her feet on the pavement. "Where are the others-?" She said while rubbing her head due to the aching. "Well," Kyofu breathed in, "They're taking care of the guy..."
"No way."
"Cheif-"
"YOU LEFT THEM WITH THAT MONSTER?!"
"They willingly jumped in for me to get you!"
"You fucking-!" She grabbed his shoulders with a fierce grip as she pushed and pulled him in a continuous motion. "Calm down-!" Kyofu replied, "You go back to the warehouse and I'll go back to help them so you won't have to worry-"
"I don't see the point in worrying about them anymore." A familiar voice spoke out toward them. It made both Charlotte and Kuofu's hearts skip a beat as they snapped their heads to glance over to the shadows of the direction of the alleyway the group members were left behind. The person slowly approached, a few steps later, they made it under the light as it resulted to be Charlie who nonchalantly walked towards them with a grin on his face and splattered with stains of blood. Although covered in red, only the coat was spotless, untouched from any filth.
Charlotte froze, staring at every drop and stain of red on his body, she then struggled to make a fist as she clenched her teeth. "What did you do..." She said with anger being caught in her throat. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Charlie then snickered at her reaction, well aware that his appearance would've triggered something in either one of them. Before he could say anything, Charlotte grabbed Kyofu's pistol from his pouch as pointed at Charlie. Charlie's face drooped to a frown. Charlotte took her shot but Charlie moved his body slightly to the right of him before looking down at the gun and back at her. He began to slowly approach her as she kept shooting bullets toward him. One by one, Charlie weaved each and every one of the bullets with no effort. "WHY. DON'T. YOU. JUST. DIE." She yells as she aimlessly shoots at Charlie with tears forming on the corners of her eyes as genuine fear struck her, as well as blinded by rage to even concentrate her aim. Slowly and deliberately, as Charlie makes his way closer to Charlotte as she keeps going at it, Kyofu snatches the gun from her grasp by force and shoots directly in the chest, catching Charlie off guard. Charlotte's hands were shaking as they were in the gesture like if she were still holding the pistol until she relaxed her shoulders and arms. Kyofu was breathing heavily as he tried to go in for another shot, but Charlie rushed toward him at quick velocity to hit Kyofu's head with his elbow, slamming him against a wall, leaving a dent on it as it cracked. Kyofu slouched down onto the ground unconscious as it was only Charlotte and Charlie. The two stared at each other silently, with Charlotte's mental stability dwindling as the monster that took out her fellow group members was standing casually right in front of her. She was paralyzed from fear and anger. She couldn't move a single joint, her breathing was shifting. As Charlie approached her and rested her hand onto her shoulder causing her to twitch her head over to look at his hand, then he leaned in to try and whisper into her ear, to tell her something. But the first breath he took, he was shot from 10 bullets collectively in the back without him knowing, snapping him out unconscious as he collapsed onto the ground as Charlotte moved out of the way. He fell onto his hands and knees before being struck from the back of his neck with another bullet, and in his final breath, he fell onto his side and remained still.
Charlotte, motionless, looked down at the dead corpse of the person who did all this damage to her group. She took a step closer to look down at him. Her hair began to fall down from behind her ear as her eyes, dead from inside, were grounded onto the body. By instinct, she tried to reach her gun from her compartment to feel nothing there. She looked down towards it to see that her gun wasn't really there. She then remembered that she had lost her gun back down the alleyway, and returned to stare at Charlie. "Chief." A person from above a building said before hopping down to her. Charlotte slowly looked up at them, her expression looked like all her energy had been drained. "We recovered the people who were caught in the chaos. And ... Sadly none of them could cling on." He said with a sad undertone as he put his gun back into his compartment. Charlotte looked down and nodded before falling to her knees out of mental and emotional exhaustion. The man kneeled down to her level and before asking if she's okay, Charlotte asked, "Kyofu ... is he okay." She and the man looked down to their left and right respectively to see grunts tending to Kyofu and his wounds. "We'll have to wait and see, chief." He sighs as he drives his attention back at her. "But right now you need to focus on your own wellbeing. I'm sure Kyofu will turn out fine, especially as he has no serious wounds ... compared to the others," he adds. Charlotte nodded slowly as he stood up to support her balance and walk her back to their base. With two over grunts carrying Kyofu, and several following behind for protection and ensuring the safety of their chief and the group leader.
