Pretty enjoyable overall. It's pretty dated, such as the Dragonite voice or the graphics in general, but it's pretty easy to look past that stuff. However, it seems the team didn't check the movie's final cut much, as there are some pretty noticeable errors, such as Corey referring to his Pidgeot as a Pidgeotto, and Team Rocket calling Scyther Alakazam. that's about it for the negative stuff I have to say. Although I will admit the memory wipe ending is kind of cheap, and in a sense, Ash accomplished nothing. Some stuff definitely makes more sense now after watching the prologue as well. During the iconic Pikachu crying scene, all of the Pokemon's tears came together to revive Ash after he was turned to stone by Mewtwo and Mew's power. I hadn't seen the prologue when I originally watched this, so it didn't make sense, but the prologue actually explains that "Tears of Pokemon can create light" or something, basically leading up to the infamous scene. Other interesting things include stuff such as Donphan being shown, which was odd, considering Gold and Silver weren't even out yet at the time of release, and this movie takes place during the anime's Kanto saga. Besides this stuff, I can say the movie was good and had a lot of subtle little details such as the use of CGI in some scenes and markings on some of the cloned Pokemon. Mewtwo was an amazing subject for Pokemon's first movie and was executed pretty well. The prologue is dark, and really sad if you look into it. The Professor guy (I forgot his name lol) is trying to use this newfound cloning technique to bring back his dead daughter, alongside clones of Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and a clone of Mew (which is explicitly stated to be Mewtwo). Just when everything seems to be going according to plan, however, all of the clones, except for Mewtwo, begin to fade away. Amber was one of Mewtwo's only friends at the time, showing him things about the world via telepathy. On its own, Mewtwo Strikes Back is 6.8 out of 10, but with the addition of the prologue, I would say it's about 7.4 out of 10. Would I recommend it? Well, if you are able to somehow find a version of this movie with the prologue included, you should watch that version of the movie. oh dear lord i wrote a lot of stuff about this movie lol
