First of all, here's a reminder of how the Who I See character come into this game!
Project LIAR is not exactly a sequel to Who I See, but it will include its characters (along with new ones). You're gonna see these characters at different points in their lives than they were in Who I See.
For example, what is Darci like after some wild life changes? How's Jonas holding up in response to seeing the collapse of what he thought was a solid worldview? What's Sylvia like after some strangely good fortune?
Same characters, new situations and new secrets.
And brand new art for all of them! Follow the twitter! https://twitter.com/ProjectLIAR
If you played Who I See, you may remember that Alice and Sylvia were white. Well in the past year, I've learned about just how impactful diverse representation can be. When people made fanart of Alice but as black or brown, it made me think "Huh, they really like this character and game and want to see themselves in it, but it's hard for them because its all white characters (which I did not even think of at all while making the game)".
Also, when I saw that new Star Wars movie, I had extremely mixed feelings about the movie's quality but it did make me, a half-Korean, realize something. It had the first important Asian actor/character in the Star Wars movies. When I saw her, I thought "oh that's like me", and for the first time I could actually imagine myself or someone like me living in the Star Wars universe, and I realized that for so many other people that was the norm but for me I had never even considered it on a subconscious level. It really made me think.
I'm planning for a very small, tight, and focused cast of characters for Project LIAR, and much of it will include Who I See characters ( though it'll definitely have new ones). I thought, well, why not make some representation through these two? I really like how they turned out, especially with Sylvia.
My hope is that more diversity will help all sorts of players to be able to see themselves in the story and world of the game, like I did for the first time in Star Wars via its first Asian actor. Stuff like this only brings good things.

I'll be posting the new art of the characters as I make them. I can't wait to show you!
