ALMOST FORGOT ENTIRELY MB-

Missed my last few 'Queer Sundays', so whoops-

Queer Tuesday, it works- why not.
Last vote for the country was the USA, but I'm doing two, so we're going for Germany, and ancient Rome/greece

(Note, some info may be slightly inaccurate as I had to translate this from German, and Google Translate isn't exactly uh-.. great.)

First one is Anna Rüling, born German, but spent her childhood with her sister in Hamburg; attending a school for daughters from the upper-middle class. She finished her schooling at a grammar school in Stuttgard.

At 17, she started to work as a journalist for the newspaper Hamburger Fremdenblatt. For her profession, she moved to Berlin, where she worked as a Journalist for a newspaper run by the publicist August Scherl; writing mainly about music and theater.

On October 9th 1904, she gave the world's first speech on women's rights that addressed the problems Lesbian Women faced. The speech entitled Homosexuality and the Women's movement took place in Prinz Albrecht hotel in Berlin, gathering at the Scientific Humanitarian Committee (WhK)

But, on October 9th, 1904, she gave the world's first speech on woman's writes that addressed the problems of Lesbian Women (The problems they face, not them being a problem, to be clear.). The speech entitled Homosexuality and the Women's movement took place in Prinz Albrecht hotel in Berlin, gathering at the Scientific Humanitarian Committee (WhK)

Her speech was published in a year book for Sexual Intermediate Stages under the heading 'What interest does the women's have in solving the Homosexual problem?"

On Oct. 27th, in the same year, she gave another speech on this topic at Johonnes Holzmann's human Rights acociation in Berlin.

She created many short stories with Lesbian themes, and was generally regarded as the first (known) Lesbian activist.

(I'd also recommend looking through this, if you're interested: https://metro.co.uk/2018/01/11/amazing-intimate-portraits-illustrate-lesbianism-ages-7222581/. It's not related to her, but it is interesting.)

Some of this information is not well documented, but still regarded as plausible, for the most part.

Oh, and also- quick side thing, because I think it's INTERESTING~

The Galli- Ancient Rome and Greece, in about 200 BCE (BEFORE Christ.)

The Galli were pretty much priestesses of the goddess Cybele, in ancient Rome and Greece. Quite a few of them were assigned male at birth ,but went under ritual castration and lived as women- taking on feminine names and clothing. The modern concept of 'Transgender' wasn't really a thing back then, but by all means, if this tradition still existed, it WOULD be under the label Trans & Non binary. They were both revered and ridiculed in Roman society, and I believe some emperors tried to ban their practises. (They WERE referred to as 'Half men' alot, however.)

Sooo.. yeah.

Trans people are older than Jesus. So, if anything? Christianity is a trend. The FIRST Christians EVER documented was in the first century CE, WAY after 200BCE (BCE is the non-religious version of BC, by the way). 'Before Common Era', but it is the same thing as BC, and AD. CE is the common era, after what would be 1 AD. Literally the exact same meaning, just without religious ties.)

Fun fact: the United Kingdom has no official requirements for their flag, the Union Jack, specifically it's colours. A Union Jack with a pink St. George's cross is just as official as one with the regular.

This also means that a Trans-UK flag is official.
