Hey everyone,
I'm back! Now that forest.end is finished, I have more time to work on this game. And I did. In the first half of the devlog, I will explain some stuff and update you all, and in the second half, I'm gonna talk about the new thigns I have been working on. So let's begin.
Update/ What I've been doing
So in the last devlogs I have explained how I want to completely redo Fighter of EVE. The whole game.
After I finished Forest.end, I have decided against that and have instead decided to continue off of an older build of Fighter of EVE (a around christmas 2018 build).
Yeah, yeah I know. I said I wanted to remake everything and make it better all from scratch, but I also want this game to come out within the next year and not delay stuff even more, so there's that.
Starting off of that old build actually was better than remaking everything. I only had to clean up and improve some old code and I was up and running again.Screenshots soon.
New Stuff
Yeah, this is the real stuff you want to hear. So what have I been working on? A ton of stuff!
First of all I have completely remade the cave (screenshot. only shows a small part of the cave)! It's more maze-like now, and it waaay larger than before. There will be puzzles inside the which you have to solve to advance and eventually find your way out.
The second thing is the battle system. IT'S ACTUALLY ROUND BASED NOW! Everyone who tested the game hated that it wasn't before. Can't show any screenshot of that yet, because it's all just place-holder textures right now, but trust me, it exists.
That it with the big things, but here are some minor things:
- Running, yeah, you can run now
- Improved Dialogue Feature
- DX11 Runtime nerd shit (game runs better, basically)
- Remade Story Cutscene
So yeah, gamers, that's it. There will be a lot more updates now. I'm going to work on this game a lot more often now that I don't have any other projects in my way.
Have a nice day
Pault
