Bad news first: That Senator Armstrong + Soul Orb demo isn’t coming out.
Good news second: I just had a huge breakthrough with the story mode for this game and the mechanics it will hold. I even have a quick synopsis:
Everytime you start the game, he takes a little more of your soul.
In CROSS/ME: The RPG About Everything, you place yourself in the midst of the colliding imaginations of humanity from around the world. A creature holding devastating power is causing chaos by taking pieces of the souls of those who play his game, creating his own “perfect” world out of them. Be wary; many of those you meet are lost and confused. All of them - some reluctantly, some willingly - will join your cause. Only together will you have the ability to stop the darkness from consuming all worlds, both imaginary — and real.
Hopefully that catches your attention. I’m working the kinks out of it right now. While I’m doing that, however, you can go ahead and look at the new features that will be added in the game:
ALL NEW Fast-Paced Combat System. Take control of your favorite characters in a unique combat system inspired by the side-scrolling beat-em-up games of the past with a special RPG twist.
Character Levelling. Level up every ally you have, party by party, battle by battle, up to LVL 99… or, perhaps, beyond. After LVL 5, you choose which stats you want to level up.
In-Depth Ascension. A Skyrim-like ability upgrade tree will allow you to power up your team with individual ascension for each character.
Equippable Gear and Weapons. Change your characters’ basic abilities by giving them different gear and weapons, each with their own unique perks and downsides.
Gameplay Styles For Everybody. Every character plays differently, but so do you. Whether you like running at the speed of sound, rushing into battle head on, or partaking in some tactical espionage action, you’ll be sure to find something you’re interested in when playing CROSS/ME.
Those are just a few of the features coming to CROSS/ME. I hope to have an all new version of the game available by Christmas or earlier. Hopefully earlier. I’m going to college for videogame design, don’tcha know!
Have a great rest of your summer,
