An idea i had for a take on Underfell take where instead of being a worse or evil version, the underground lacked hope to begin with and lost it's magic (just a saying, monsters still have magic)

In this take the Underground is a place of stagnation and resignation, where monsters have lost their drive. Asgore never declared every human would be killed, so there’s no belief the barrier will ever be broken. The world is industrialized and worn-down, focused on survival rather than rebellion.

Sans is the manager of the Snowdin Engineering Division.

Papyrus is a maintenance worker.
