Hey there, I’m just making this post to let you know that Somber is going to take a direction change.
As of right now, it’s fairly puzzle focused. With a set in puzzle in individual rooms.
This (to me) doesn’t feel right, it makes each room feel disconnected from this facility you’re supposed to be in and it limits the realistic puzzle’s I can do, making rooms quickly feel repetitive.
Not only that, but as of right now the game is not scary, like at all.
The point and click formula is also proving challenging, making traversal a complicated process in the game and severely slowing down the pace.
However I am fully aware freeroam will bring a lot of it’s own problems and basically render the current levels unusable.
That’s why I’m going to make 2 versions of a single puzzle, a point and click, and a freeroam version, a closed testers group of trusted and “game wise” people will receive this demo, feedback will then decide the direction of the game.
Basically I’m unhappy with it right now and am going back to the drawing board.
