An Update On This Project

Hey guys,

I wanted to start by saying thank you to everyone who is looking at this right now. The support and appreciation this project received has been out of this world. It is worth addressing what this project actually is, and why it wont be updated in the future.

I have recently graduated my degree in Games Development, with Generation being my final project. I worked on this with a team of five other students and it was the first step in creating my own personal studio moving forwards. The team finalised the project for submission, released it here, and we have now parted ways as a development group. While Scorched Earth remains my studio, I am now working solo.

This leads into the reasons why the game feels unfinished, and we have unexpected lag issues in the second level. We were working hard right up until the deadline for submission and the lag issues only became known during our final presentation. Apologies, but I don’t have the knowledge of the systems my programmer used to fix this. Personally I am looking to create better projects in the future that will be easier to manage as a solo developer.

Once again, thanks everyone for your support, its been a bit surreal to see this go as well as it has. I was disappointing in the final product when I first released it, and thats probably why I have been so hesitant to write this post. In some regards I feel that you are all far to kind. Seeing peoples enthusiasm and engagement has definitely encouraged me to continue my solo developments down the track.

Thanks again, and I hope to bring you some awesome new stuff ASAP

Just as Pecaminosa's musicians #improvise this rendition of #LittleSunflower 🌻, so do we improvise with this post you're reading. 😂

What's coming out of your own improvs? 🤔

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.

If you have more of an acquired taste, the restaurants in Niravasi have you covered! Maybe skip the salad bar, though.
