Hi and welcome to this weeks devlog!
As of writing this I’m just getting started on the World Three Boss! Bosses are always a challenge to make as we try to keep things difficult, but fair. There’s a fine line between an impossible chaotic mess of attacks to dodge and fair difficulty that requires skill to overcome. With every ability the player unlocks during the game, level design and boss battles get harder to make. With the player more powerful, the challenge needs to be harder to match that. Those factors greatly affect how we need to design our boss battles.
For the World Three boss we are starting with what we call Apple Bouncers.
These guys will be created by the main villain of this fight and can be used against said villain as a means of attack. I don’t want to go into to much detail and spoil things so I’ll leave it at that and end this short devlog with a gif.

These guys can still use a bit of polish but you get the basic idea. They are bouncing apples with mouths. The boss should be more or less done by next week, so we’ll probably show you more then.
