Aquay Update!

Okay, so there’s a start going on here. I may have to slim down what I want in the game to make the deadline, sadly, so it won’t be super robust…

So far, I have the event framework half-implemented. Events randomly generate and occur as you venture forth. When they happen, the tab panel will be replaced with an event panel that explains what’s happening and gives you a list of up to 4 options. Some events will have hidden options that become available if certain conditions are met (such as a party member with a certain strength/weakness, or a certain item being in your inventory).

I was going to add a “region” system, where certain sections of the tunnel let you do new actions (such as fishing in a “porthole” region), but I don’t think I have time for that. I was also going to add a beginning phase where you buy gear and choose party members, but I might scrap that too, just for time reasons, starting the player off with a randomized party and a list of “ration packs” to choose.

Anyway, that’s where I’m at. Just over a week to go, I hope I can make it!!!

What you all think

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
