Is Holey Suit an [Arcade], [Action] or [Shooter] game???

Holey Suit is heavily inspired by Vlambeer games: Super Crate Box, LuftRausers, Nuclear Thrones. Vlambeer’s moto is to restore the look & feel of 90s arcade; so what does this make Holey Suit?
And the bigger qestion: what defines an arcade, action or shooter game? The line is blurred. Seeking some help on the GameJolt chat, I got a few responses. Action could refer to the run, gun & shoot genre, potentially FPS. Arcade, linear mechanic/goals and high scores, possibly retro feel. Shooters, 2D top down or side scrolling shooting à la R-Type. The categories are broad and overlap.
Even if we define each category precisely, the answer is still ubiquitous in the context of my game. Holey suit is an 2D top down shooter where you gun & shoot to move, kill aliens & avoid obstacles. It is physics based and set in space with zero gravity, with a clear action element. It has an arcady/retro pixel art look, scoring mechanism. It even has XP and an upcoming story mode, which borders on basic RPG progression system, but let’s not even go there!
I hope you can see my dilemma: the game clearly overlaps several categories, and I honestly do not have a clear cut answer.
Do you??? Please comment on this devlog & let me know which category you think Holey Suit best fits in!
