Atari System: Review

Recently I got as a gift a remake of the old Atari system. While it doesn’t have every single game it’s built it with about 92 of them. I’ve played most of them and I gotta say, it’s definitely better to play on a small screen. You know which this fast moving and larger space it makes the games harder to play. I hurt my eyes enough playing Space Invaders, but when I got to pong, I realized that it’s definitely better on an old TV screen, considering playing on a 32 inch LED flat screen for some reason makes the controls much faster. After playing some random games for awhile then buying some old NES games off the 3DS shop, I decided to compare them for a little. It’s pretty obvious the Atari is a much different system and because of that, there is less to it. I played a game, something called Adventure or whatever. The idea for the game was fun and even a bit humorous with how the enemies acted, and I enjoyed playing it with my brother. I also found a game called Sword Fight, which for some reason made me think I was about to go into a Nidhogg battle. The whole Atari system at the time was great. Considering my parents were even there to play, they had some great opinions.

“You think your games are hard, then you play our game”

If it’s true that specific games are harder, it’s normally for a big reason. One of the obvious reasons why games like Space Invader get harder on level four then FNAF Night 6 (joking) is because it’s a different pace for people who are playing faster games. A long with the lack of pixels or the obvious pixels making the screen harder to see which is why playing a lot of new games can weaken your take on the old games. I recommend playing old games anyway when you can to mix it up a little. Anyway, the reason I love the Atari is that for a system that came out as one of first (or maybe the first..? Didn’t really research this) systems for players to play at home, it can be pretty fun. I would put some games as fun as SNES games, which means that they must be pretty decent. Over all I think because of how easy it is to play any Atari game these days, people look games like that up which ruins everything. Have you ever seen a legit remake of Pac-Man that didn’t say “Pac-man” flash? Neither did I. No one makes the games exactly how they are and you can only experience it truly with the original. Even though emulators are accurate, they are still different then playing the games from the same controller, unless you happen to have a USB version of such controller. Atari games are simple with a small goal, but are obvious windows to new creations which you can see in some of the games “physics”. Meaning that some games play out like future games do. I definitely recommend trying this out.
