August 25 Undertale Consequence Devlog: Implementing the basics

Howdy, everyone! It's been a while huh? Three months, in fact. I must say, this has been way harder than i thought, and it is also taking quite some time, but i am not about to give up, especially because i have some exciting news today!

First of all, I decided to stay on Godot engine and stick with GDScript! No more engine hopping, aye? And i finally get to stick with just one programming language. This will hopefully significantly smoothen out the process of development.

Secondly, my game is finally... relatively stable! And exists in a somewhat playable form! with some systems! And it doesn't crash with 100 errors! I know it may not sound like much, but, this is some very exciting development, especially since i'm not exactly the programmer of the year. I have also found a very good baseline engine for godot, which has helped make this process soooo much smoother.

What did i cook, y'all say? Well, the game now has a sufficient game menu screen, working buttons, an overworld, an inventory, a battle system, a saving system, a character system, a textbox system, and much more. Here are some examples of the stuff i've made.

I am unable to properly figure out how to insert images into article content, so i instead just... added them on the post itself XD but i will try to figure it out in the future. As you can see, there's the main menu screen, and a human...

Say hi to Kai! Their sprites are a bit bugged out, but it works for now.

Additionally, take a loot at the saving screen, aswell as the inventory :3

Seems cool, right? I hope this kind of progress continues as this seems very promising.

Thank you for following me and my work, and have a good one!
