so there are some weapons in TF2 get a bad rap, weather it's because the underperform, or overperform. so I'm going to go down the list of weapons that are unpopular, yet I enjoy anyway

the backscatter

this is a weapon I've grown a recent fondness to. I get that it isn't the most practical weapon in the game but I find backshots to be kind of satisfying. and even at it's worst, it's jsut a scattergun with two less shots

the shotgun (specifically on soldier)

people don't seem to use the stock shotgun on soldier very often, usually it's a banner or gunboats, or mantreads or ect. I find the shotgun to be acceptionally useful at finishing wounded targets, I use it in conjunction with the cow mangler so I can rush in after a charge shot and clean up anything that avoided or survived the blast

the black box/concheror

this setup is hated for a reason. it's effective. when I play soldier I want to survive as long as I can, and having two weapons the heal you. I like to use it in conunction with the escape plan as it allows me to run away quickly so I can heal up in private

the phlogistionator

people think this weapon requires no skill to use but trust me when I say that's far from the case. first of there is building up that meter, which isn't the easiest thing in the world, especially if you don't have a flare gun equipped, and then there's timing the mmph at the right time to maximize enemies killed with the crits. a lot of the time I die before I can get the meter filled up or only get one kill in before dying. the phlog is a bit of a gamble, and when it pays off, melting an entire group of enemies is extremely satisfying

the scortch shot

works very well with the phlog. and let's be honest it's the objective best pyro secondary in the game

the scottish resistence

I love sticky traps. nuff said

I have literally never used the sandvich

I unlocked the bannana first and because I play casual I don't run into medics very often, let alone medics I need to keep alive. so I may never eat a sandvich in my TF2 career

the blutsagger

I simply enjoy using this weapon over the crossbow. being able to go one on one with a pyro and win, provided I have good aim, is super satisfying. when I play medic I go battle medic (on hightower) and I run around trying to get kills with the blutsagger.

the machina

first off. getting doubles kills is SUPER satisfying. killing somebody and the medic healing them at once as a sniper will never stop bringing me joy. the one thing I dislike about this wepon is that people get super pissed off when I get the with a bodyshot. like I'm required to headshot you for my kill to be valid. listen, when I play sniper I don't care about flashy headshots (not that I'm incapable of them I can hit headshots a good chunk of the time) but I like a more confirmed kill over a flashy kill
