I’m about to make my grand return to the internet after disappearing for gods know how long. I’m posting this to say that I’m okay now and that I’m still making stuff to this day.

Here’s a few images of drawings for future art pieces. I hope to trace over them and color them digitally before posting proper. (A little post production.)

Where have I been? I disappeared at an odd time, especially since my newest Kaden Caverns strip uploaded to YouTube cracked over 1000 views. Why stop there? For one, I was scared away. Because of computer troubles. More specifically, my laptop had a broken SSD. It was discovered by a constant random shutdown. Kernel Power Event ID 41 Task Category 63 on Windows 11. I’ve since had it replaced but it did a number on my mental state that took some time to shake off. My head wasn’t in the right place to make comics anymore.

There’s also a situation with FireAlpaca that resulted in Century of Sadness being shelved. That also played a factor. (My new plan is to pay another artist to do comic book art for me. Using money I save on the side. But that doesn’t mean I won’t draw anymore at all, I still hope to do comic strips. It’ll just take longer than initially planned to produce this comic book. For comic strip artists, comic books are a massive undertaking.)

My laptop’s fine, I don’t get the Event ID 41 random shutdown anymore. I also wanted to go away to get my life started for real this time. Find a job, get my license, and finally make something of myself. Go somewhere and do something with myself. Stack a few bills so if computer problems or emergencies happen again moving forward, I’ll be prepared.

I did draw on paper a few times. So if computer problems happened again moving forward, I could still do art on paper. Been putting my colored pencils and markers to good use again. I use printer paper, not high-quality, but it’s cheap and I have an abundance of them. I sometimes feel like I draw like Chris Chan or Rob Liefeld. It also worked to stockpile some work so I can have stuff to post for weekly content. So far, I had enough for about 5 weeks worth of content. (1 video per week)

I was also moving to a different town so even if I wanted to do art, I wasn’t in a position to. I was also at odds with YouTube given it’s recent changes. If you know, you know. A few days came and went and nothing bad happened to my YouTube. I believe the situation will sort itself out as humans show time and time again that they learn from their mistakes and fix themselves for the better.

I came back after watching a few videos on the Far Side comic strip and rewatched a few of my comic videos with hundreds of views to see what worked. It gave me newfound motivation to come back and try again.

Simply put, I stopped posting art because I was going through a period of change and uncertainty. Moving to a different place is the biggest change imaginable. (Fun fact: The Century of Sadness was a product of me going through a massive regime change and having a mental breakdown as I wasn’t prepared for such a change to happen so suddenly. It felt like the perfect choice for a first episode of Charcoal Rabbit Tales. Teach people a lesson that change isn’t a bad thing and to not take your family for granted.)

Despite everything, I always find a way to come out okay. For a bit, I thought I was never gonna come back. But it feels good to be back.

Be prepared to see more of me in the coming weeks, comics, musings, or whatever I decide to cough up as soon as my shelf-building blisters go away.

Finally! My first honest to god, finished, flat colors, comic page of Century of Sadness! #comic #devlog

I went and saw #TheDayTheEarthBlewUp and it was amazing! It had heart, it was fun, funny, and it felt like the first #LooneyTunes movie that felt like actual Looney Tunes! #Support2DAnimation and go see it if it’s playing in your local theater!

I’ve started writing nonsense alien words for a #script. My writing inspiration for this is Star Trek, Futurama, iCarly, and Rick and Morty. #writing I like making fake words hoping they work like real words. I also snuck a Star Trek reference in.

I released the first 12 pages of my comic in sketch form!

The first 12 page sketches are on my Patreon and Ko-fi for monthly supporters.

Your boy's on a roll! Pages 3 to 4 have their flat colors finished already! #comic #devlog To be fair, I had the inking and a good chunk of the colors done for a while. Just needed the finishing touches. Once more, needs shading but I did it!
