Saying being a Femboy is inherently sexual & a fetish is, if anything, mysoginistic itself in nature. This is because it suggests that feminity, on its own, is sexual
There has been an immense amount of misusage of the term, & misunderstanding, so I wanted to clear things up. Being a Femboy simply means that you enjoy generally considered feminine things, such as dresses, croptops, skirts, all the like, or that you just generally do more 'feminine' things. This is a self assigned label. You do not use it on someone who does not USE that lable. Saying being a Femboy is inherently sexual & a fetish is, if anything, mysoginistic itself in nature. This is because it suggests that feminity, on its own, is sexual
Simply because something CAN be fetishised, does not mean it is a fetish. That's like saying having big muscles, as a woman, is a fetish because technically people DO have fetishes for muscular women, which it is not.
Being trans, however, is MUCH different. The two can overlap, but on their own, they are not the same. For simplicity, I will only be covering the two types of Transgender that are relevant for this- MTF, & FTM. I, myself, am MTF; a Transwoman, whilst someone who's FTM, such as @Faithh , would be considered a Transman. Please give him a follow if you can, much appreciated!
Along with that, wearing a dress on it's own isn't feminine. Many cultures have things VERY similar to 'dresses' which have been used by men, like Kilts. These were worn by both genders, and it was extremely normal. A good example of what a Femboy is, would be @Nickpi . (Also, follow him!) Below is his OC, who is a Femboy. (Art link: https://gamejolt.com/p/just-a-friendly-reminder-go-follow-iron-fear-now-https-gamejo-34tebife.)

Incase you didn't get that, here is it laid out. If you don't read below, & this is the end, please use the correct pronouns for Faithh in the comments. He goes by He/Him, as does Nickpi/Mausy, and please respect that. Any comments maliciously misgendering him will be removed. Thank you.
Transgender people, such as myself-
-Do not have their gender allign with their Sex. (Or, informally, 'what you're born as'.)
-They typically experience gender Dysphoria when forced to dress as their sex assigned at birth, however some may not as severely as others.
-They, typically, experience gender EUPHORIA, when dressing as their gender.
Femboys, on the other hand.
-Are either FTM, or Cis.
-Simply dress femininely.
They are just like anyone else. A guy who just so happens to want to dress a certain way. Their bodies are the exact same as any man. Treat them like you would anyone else, as some people may mistakenly believe that Femboys should have a certain body type, or proportions that are more feminine. This is a false assumption, & extremely harmful, as it can project self esteem issues onto people, when they feel forced to fill a certain expectation.
And, most importantly of all, CALL THEMSELVES FEMBOYS. Calling someone who does not use that label, a 'femboy' can be insanely insulting. This depends on the person, but generally, it is considered inpolite to do so. Along with this, calling Transwomen (AMAB) femboys is transphobic, however some people may be fine with it.
However, it can overlap, as you saw above. This does NOT mean all Transmen are femboys, or that all Femboys are trans men. This also does not mean that Femboys are just 'Trans women in denial'. Assuming that is extremely insulting.
For those of you who don't know, or simply aren't educated on the terms I'm using, I'll explain below. If you know them already, feel free to click off now.
-MTF Someone assigned Male At Birth, but who's gender is female.
-FTM Someone who is assigned Female at Birth, but who's gender is male.
-AMAB Someone who's assigned male at birth. This is far more broad, and can be used for anyone. Cis Men are 'AMAB', as are Transwomen and some Enby's.
-AFAB. Someone who's assignd female at birth. This is far more broad, and can be used for anyone. Cis Women are 'AFAB', as are Transwomen & some Enby's.
To add, as some people don't know what some surgeries are,
-Top Surgery. Removes breast tissue, gender affirming surgery. Can be done by Transmen, or NB, etc.
-Bottom Surgery. Adds penile tissue from the inside of a vagina. Gender affirming surgery. Mainly done on Transmen.
-Orchiestomany. Removes the testicles. Usually done by Trans Women, can be done by NB's. Gender affirming surgery.
-Vaginoplasty. Uses penile & scrotum tissue to construct a vagina. Primarily done by Trans Women, can be done by NB's. Gender affirming surgery.
Things taken orally, or through needles, to help essentially create a second puberty-
-'T', or Testostorone. Cismen & Ciswomen naturally produce it, it is higher in Cismen. The suppliment was originally made for Cismen, but Transmen also use it.
-E, or Estrogen. Cismen & Ciswomen naturally produce it, it is higher in Ciswomen. The suppliment was originally made for Ciswomen, but Transwomen also may use it.
