They are based on the Zone of Silence in Mexico, a place with strong magnetic fields that is believed to attract many aliens, the Nazca mummies/aliens (Peru) and on Gemini, the constellation
Its shiny form is gray like an alien, and the turquoise color is because of Minun's shiny form, because Plusle's is identical to the normal one
