Hi there,
So we come to the final part of this series of update posts I've made, explaining the troubled development of the game after Patch 1.3. and why I've decided not to continue development of the game from this point forward, as well as shed some details on what some of the plans made were.
In this part, I'll be explaining in more detail what I'm currently working on and why you should be excited for the future. I'll have much more to talk about these projects in the future, but in the mean-time, feel free to enjoy what's to come.
Project 1: Aetherside
So I briefly mentioned this when asked if there were any other projects I was working on and this is perhaps the biggest, if not the most ambitious. Aetherside, like BLANK, is a standard roleplaying that has elements of exploration, combat and a strange world to explore. But unlike the latter, Aetherside will have a much more bright and human method of storytelling.
You play as a robot boy called HORI, who finds himself waking up on a strange land filled with Rabbit and Fox people. Knowing that this is not the home you came from, you work together with a local called Harriet to find your way back home. There is, of course, much more to the story, but I don't really want to delve too much into that. Instead, here's some screenshots of the current build of the game.
This game is still very early in development and the scope of the game in comparison is massive. I can't imagine Aetherside to be complete anytime soon, but it's a story I've been wanting to tell for years now. But instead, let's focus on another project; one which holds more ties to the darker atmosphere you're used to for BLANK.
Project 2: Niravasi
What started as a side-quest for Aetherside ended up becoming its own project, and one that I'm extremely excited to showcase when it's ready.
You play as a anthropomorphic catlike being called Mura, an archaeologist specialising in exploring ancient ruins. After being contracted by the Willow Eugenics Team to explore the lost city of Niravasi, you find that things have taken a very, VERY dark turn and soon find yourself alone and desperately trying to survive in a city where no living creature can exist.
If this one's not obvious enough, Niravasi is an RPG-Horror Game built in the same vein as games like .flow, Cat in the Box, Mad Father and The Crooked Man. Many of you have complimented BLANK's story, which ironically enough is something I deemed to be the game's weakest elements. As such, I want to try something special that can really bring people on edge. If BLANK caused you to feel despair, I'm really hoping Niravasi can bring you terror.
Anyway, that's it for all the comments I had to make regarding the progress of BLANK and what I've been working on since then. I'm really sorry about keeping you all in the dark for this long and apologise for cutting development of this game so short. I'm hoping that with these two new projects, it'll light a spark in your hearts as they have for mine and here's hoping for the best in the future.
Thank you so much for supporting BLANK for all these years and I'll be more than happy to discuss anything regarding the content I've posted in these guides as soon as I can.
Take care everyone and have a lovely evening.
Kind regards,
Sangos
