Hello Friedrich fans!! There are a lot more of you here since the last blog post I made, so let me first say: WILLKOMMEN!
I've been away the last weekend but have been keeping up with the comments and watching your gameplay videos. Now that I'm back, I wanted to give a more in-depth update on the future of the game, as well as address some other topics regarding the community.
Shoutouts
The demo released last Friday, and the amount of love and support Friedrich's has gotten over the weekend has been surreal. I greatly appreciate everyone's kind comments and feedback, and it's been so great to see people playing the game and having fun.
First, a huge thank you to the Five Night's At Freddy's Fan Games community for featuring my post about the demo release. Being featured on the front page was a huge honor, and it got so many more eyes on the game, which I greatly appreciate.
Second, a big shoutout to the known victors of 4/20 + Perma-Sprinkler mode. I believe the first win took around three hours after the release of the demo, which is crazy. I'll be linking some of the recorded completions below, if you're interested in seeing how they do it.
@FreddieFazbaer's completion (First recorded completion): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFmKXq1lXeo
@CoolEmil15 's completion (Second recorded completion): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybs3uf6qy_I
@ExploreMan 's completion (Third recorded completion): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikR5iSRjCjE
@Rinify 's completion (Fourth recorded completion): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBtsef2FnXc
Also, shoutouts to @pumpandskid123 for beating the mode as well, although they didn't have videos of the completion itself. If anyone else would like to send any 4/20 + Perma-Sprinkler completions, or just general gameplay videos, please drop them in the comments!
Finally, I wanna give massive thanks to everyone who played the demo, shared it, followed the page, left a comment, anything. I read and appreciate every comment, both positive and negative, and its you guys that motivate me to keep working on this game. The follower count of this page has more than doubled since the demo was posted, and it's been crazy to see how many people are interested in Friedrich's. I hope that all of you will enjoy the full game just as much when it comes out.
So What About the Full Game?
As of today, the full game is officially in development. (This was always the plan but it feels cool to declare it lmao)
I've had comments asking for an estimated release date, and honestly, it's too early to say. For transparency, this demo took about 6 months start-to-finish. The first month was spent coding the mechanics, the next 4 months went into backgrounds, character art, and animations, and the final month was spent on UI, polish, and small extra features.
I know exactly what I want the full game to look like, but I'm not sure how long each thing will take. The next few nights will get kinda crazy, and the additional animatronics will be sure to shake things up. So, for now, I'm gonna be hitting you all with a big fat TBA.
This doesn't mean I'm going radio silent, of course. I'll still be posting teasers and updates to this page semi-regularly (I try to aim for weekly)
For now, I'm gonna start working on the mechanics for the other 3 animatronics. I really like the flow the game has currently, and I need to make sure the new characters complement that flow and keep the game feeling consistent, responsive, and fair.
You'll all hear from me again soon enough. In the meantime, keep any feedback on the demo coming, and post your gameplay videos!
Until next time!
P.S. Friedrich's name is pronounced FREED-rick. Imagine a fellow named Rick who just got freed. Now he is FREED Rick.
P.P.S. Friedrich will not be offended if you mispronounce his name. He will probably kill you anyway.
