Hi, it's me again.
So, the last devlog was about some of the stuff in phase 3's final version, but what about the stuff that didn't make the cut? I'm gonna briefly shine the spotlight on some of these concepts that were ultimately scrapped.
Phase 3, "Double Trouble"
Fun fact: Originally, phase 3 wasn't even going to have anything to do with the SOULs. It was just simply going to go like this: The player kills Donobo, but fails and just splits his SOUL in half, which for some reason, makes 2 of him?? Not exactly sure where I was going with that one XD
Phases 4 & 5
Back waaaaayyyy before phase 3 was even conceptuallized, I had already made ideas for another 2 phases; phase 4 being against Donobo's canonical (adopted) children Olivia and Jayden, and phase 5 being an Omnilovania sort of thing where I would grab a bunch of characters and toss them all into one fight. These 2 were eventually cut due to me thinking the game was growing too long, and also the changes to phase 3 would ultimately prevent more phases.
I guess my thought process for these 2 were "How many phases does Last Breath have again? Lets do a lot like them"
Oh, and speaking of Last Breath, I actually have an extra prepared based on the fangame. It will be available after phase 2 is beaten, so yeah. It also has an outdated engine version available on Scratch.
Donobo's Rejuvenation
I really liked the concept of S00TF00T/@Wrenblu 's fangame, Rejuvenation/Nihilism, so for some reason, I made this as a concept? It was scrapped due to its incompatibility with the story, I don't even know what I was thinking XD
