Boy Goes to Space on Playism


Hi all, exciting news!

Boy Goes to Space is now “pay what you want” on Playism! We were e-introduced to the guys from Playism after PAX and they were super nice and really enthusiastic about the project. We were also driven to a native (Mac/Windows) release by some of the limitations of the HTML5 version too (arrow keys making the view slide, stuck within browser chrome etc.)

The game now supports Japanese too, thanks again to the guys at Playism. This was a really new experience for us, we’ve never done any localization before at all but thankfully the size of the project really helped make it managable. We used GameMaker : Studio to build the game, but I found I didn’t like any of the localization tools available on the marketplace, so we made our own. If you’re a GameMaker developer, check it out!

It’s all happening! How cool?

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who supported the game. It’s really hard working on personal projects like this and to see people connect with the experience is nothing like anything I’ve ever felt. Thank you!
