It feels like the most of the real life work that has been keeping me away from working on The Ballad of Lone Phoenix is behind me. So I will have a much more productive week ahead. This week I plan to continue developing my pathing tool. I also hope to continue working on the saving/loading.
But another thing that I’ll be doing is world building. The main overworld is approximately 40% complete, and I hope to be able to get that number up to around 50%.
One thing I’ve realized is how easy it is to get lost in such a large world due to the small screen size. With that in mind, I’ve been designing the world in a modular way. I want to break the world down in to as many small and distinguishable sections as possible. Here’s a look at the part of the overworld that is accessible in the pre-alpha demo (only about 50% of the entire planned overworld):
And here’s a look with emphasis placed on each distinguishable section:
I’ll still need to work and continue to break down several sections, but I’m happy with how well some of the sections have broken down.
Thanks for reading,
God bless.
