I’ve still got several months of work left to do before the game will be finished, but I feel like I’m in a good spot to get it done in a reasonable time. This week’s task will be to complete and polish the foundation of the game. The Townspeople need to work well, the combat needs to feel good, and a lot of other little things need to be finished before I start to march toward the final goal of a huge world, an epic story, and a fun game.
So that’s what I’ll be doing this week:
-Finishing up the AI for the townspeople
-Polish the combat
-Clean up collision boxes
-Other small stuff
Regarding the pre-alpha demo and future demos
I feel like one of the hardest parts about a long development cycle is wanting to get the game into peoples’ hands, but not being able to because it’s not ready. That’s one thing I’ve done really badly while developing The Ballad of Lone Phoenix. I’m so excited about the game, that I’ve been pushing incredibly hard to get it out before it’s ready (even before creating this devlog). I’m incredibly happy that those of you who wanted an early look got it, but I don’t like how much of the game was missing in the pre-alpha demo. I carelessly threw out the November 5th date anticipating that I would have a good demo ready, but it wasn’t. So from now on I’m not going to be announcing new demos until I have a demo ready to share.
Thanks again for your interest for The Ballad of Lone Phoenix.
Thanks for reading,
God bless
