It seems that summer is finally here, at the time of writing this update. Of course, since I’m not very good with release dates, this update is coming a bit late, as it was scheduled to be done on June 1st, not June 26th. But regardless, I’m getting close to finishing off the graphical foundation of the game, which I’m calling Project Octave from now on. There was a crucial point in May, when I made a decision to not include a full environment in the game for every possible room or area to be made. Doing so would be very costly on time and would just keep progress at a slow minimum.
However now, with the work that’s being done, I am getting close to being comfortable sharing progress in the form of images. It’s been a long while since I’ve done that, and it’s for very good reason. I learned that showcasing a game you don’t have is very costly and leads to cancellation in the future out of high expectations that you build for yourself.
I’m sure people wouldn’t want vague and unhelpful spotlight teasers and cryptic generic text, so that’s why when I’m ready to share proper details about the game, I’ll give out something new. Hopefully that will work.
But regardless, I know that a very big release is happening soon, It might even happen today, but whether or not Scott Cawthon drops Ultimate Custom Night today or tomorrow, (As he’ll certainly be able to release it before my game), just know that this project won’t be terminated if it turns out that a specific theory I had in mind becomes true. Or if it is debunked… it works both ways.
Until then, I’ll have to get back to work… my actual job, I won’t be working on the game tonight, but tomorrow, I intend to continue.
