Careers.. Careers.. Careers! - Devlog 30/01/2019

The most overwhelming choice in life is now in-game, you chose one of 49 college majors unlocking some of the 99 available career paths! New GIFs and screenshots in the article below.

Hey everyone,

Yes that’s correct, there is a staggering 99 available career choices waiting for you in-game right now. You could be an Aircraft Engineer, Theatre Director, Cartographer, Social Media Manager, Politician, Fashion Designer, Lawyer, General Practitioner or even a Zookeeper if that’s your cup of tea..

The possibilities are endless but your opportunities are not. As in real life, the available career choices YOU get to choose from will be based off of your earlier decisions in life (in-game). Did you read a lot of books as a kid? You might find yourself to become a talented writer. Favored playing with building blocks? Perhaps you’ll end up as a construction worker or even a building engineer.

Choosing the right college major might give you a powerful boost to increase the odds of finding a career that you like. However, it does not guarantee you’ll end up working in that field. As you know many of us end up in careers that have absolutely nothing to do with our degree.

Once you find a potential job there is one thing left to do to make it final..

Signing the contract will lock your hours, salary and benefits. Negotiate!

Coding in this large pool of available options and connecting all the dots has taken quite some time.. However, since it is one of life’s major decisions I wanted to make that overwhelming impact of making this choice to be a key moment in the game as well.

The career phase will have one more mini-game which I am working on right now, will be keeping that one a surprise though..

Wouldn’t want to spoil all the fun just yet :-)

This is the first time I’m adding GIFs to the devlog posts, please let me know in case they are displaying incorrectly, I appreciate the feedback!

Thank you for reading this Devlog.

Current goals: Playable Demo / Early Access
