So, Unity 2018 just came out a few days ago, and after updating, I ran into a really big problem, or to be more precise: the new Unity version made an already existing problem even worse.
I think I mentioned it before, but I’m not quite sure so here we go:
The Unity scene for the update, made itself pretty much unplayable. Everytime I try to playtest it, the editor crashes leaving no useful crash report behind. A lot of research on Google also didn’t bring up any good information about it. I really don’t know what to do to be honest.
So I’ve decided to do something else, less ambitious, but still appropriate for an anniversary update. Meaning you’re still getting something! Obviously it won’t be realeased on the date of anniversary either since I’m basically starting over now, but it will be out a few weeks after for sure.
All of this does not mean that the original idea for the update is lost, of course. I’m still trying to find a solution for it, or maybe a future version of Unity will fix it. I’m just hoping that the same thing doesn’t happen to this new project now.
So, to wrap everything up, I’m really sorry how this whole situation turned out, and I hope I can make this right by releasing this new project in time!
