Chapter 1 Wrapup + New Character

Hello! I'm writing this devlog to announce that Byshader's first chapter is nearing completion! It's a bit bare bones, the final product will have more levels, but it is almost ready to publish. Currently, I'm having friends playtest it, which has resulted in much needed feedback.

Beta 1.0.0 will be coming out in the next few days, and in addition, I have created an Itch.io page to come with its release, to reach a bigger audience. It will also be released on Newgrounds. No video this time around, or detailed synopsis, but I have updated the page with new pictures.

I will however, announce a new character!

Doctor Sballo is the head/only researcher in the Byshader Laboratory. Recently a widower of his husband, he tends to to the labs, and should he find a cactus in a hat that wants to kill a king, then who is he to stop you.

Sballo is a great character, and although his presence is short in Chapter 1, I hope to bring more life to him later on.

All in all, the demo should be about 10 minutes long if you go through all the interactions, and get through without any deaths, although I do hope to extend this length in further releases.

And, because I'm so nice, here's some concept for the boss you'll be fighting.
