Hapsby is robot designed by a video game company using Dreamcast hardware in an effort to diversify its business, that went nowhere and and he was shut down along with the factory he was made in once said console was discontinued.

In the Legend of ZUN, he is the fourth playable character, you find him in the old factory in New Detroit and his importance is that he is required to get the ship in order the cross the ocean to get to the next continent (and by extension the two bonus dungeons).

In game, he can equip guns and thus has access to the most powerful weapons in the game. He does know magic that ignores defense but his weakness in his Magical Attack and Magical Defense, but can be bolstered by stat-enhancing items and special equipment.
