Perhaps around when Ultimate Somari would be more than halfway complete, we'd begin development on a platform fighter in the HT style. We've planned stuff like stages, roster, etc.

Here's the soundtrack, though it doesn't include unfinished tracks like Gourmet Race.
And the roster before it got scrapped:
Mega Man
Sonic (with a Somari skin and possibly a Quicky/SONIC.NES skin as well)
SpongeBob
Scrooge McDuck
Bugs Bunny
Walter White
Crash Bandicoot
Meta Knight (The last character that would've been added to the roster if it were not scrapped)
Yup, SpongeBob, Bugs Bunny, Meta Knight and Walter White beating up each other in the same game? Would've been cool to see.. if Meta Knight wouldn't be unbalanced.
Character designs tend to differ when going into fighting games, like Bugs Bunny using his 40s/LTC design in MVS instead of his 50s/modern design or Meta Knight and Pyra and Mythra having design changes for Smash, it especially would've been the case for Sonic, who would've used his design from the Sonic 3 EU box-art and S&K Ultimate Guide, or as Lood called him, "Douche Sonic".
Perhaps like Smash 3DS, the game would've had a Classic Mode as well, where the final boss would've been Robot Nightmare, would've been this game's equivalent of the Master Hand. Who's this guy? You'll know more about him soon.
Now why would a game of this magnitude get scrapped before it even began development? Here are a few reasons:
- Due to not enough interest as we have other projects.
- Busy with RL stuff when not working on said projects
- Not knowing what engine to use (Clickteam is a no-go as we'd want something like GameMaker or Unity for online Multiplayer)... Issue is that none of us know these engines much.
