For long-time fans of my work, you’ll know that a few years ago I would frequently collaborate with other projects that I either had an interest in or were being directed by a friend of mine. What many don’t know is that most of them were actually brought to me, and only a small few collaborations had me reaching out first.
This is what was known as the “Shopping List Arc”, a small interconnected story revolving around Green Sans world-hopping to different AUs and causing havoc in small ways that never interfered with the main plot of the AU. Since then, the SLA was liquidated, and most of the collaborations have been cancelled for one reason or another.
I bring this up today because to this day I still am being asked about whether I would like to collaborate with other projects, and while some I have agreed to, most collaborations I actually turn down. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy collaborating anymore; I’ve just become more selective with what I choose to collaborate with and to what extent. This post is for the people who want to collaborate, and hopefully, then I can catch everyone up so we’re all on the same page.

I use Green Sans as the prime example in this post, but this also counts for any other characters in GREEN SANS (the game), as well as characters from DUSTTRUST X and RETRO EDITION.
Sans Fangames
This is the one that I used to do the most of, and was what the SLA mainly had in its lineup. Today, I typically WILL NOT agree to collaborate with these types of projects for one of two reasons.
Maintaining the original project's integrity
Let's say I collaborate with a fangame that's a single Sans fight with no additional encounters. By comparison, that leaves Green Sans as the sole focus of bonus content, and I don't wish to serve that role when it comes to someone else's content. That's why the SLA had Green Sans typically be a hidden secret, among other bonus content.
Lack of unique Ideas
The SLA had Green Sans consistently dress up in different costumes that either toyed around with the respective project's gimmicks or identity, putting a twist on what was already established. If a project wished to collaborate that had little to no room for innovation, I would be more reluctant to agree to a collaboration.

Full Length Fangames
I have had a few projects like these come to me, suggest adding Green Sans as a secret somewhere, and I will usually accept these offers, under certain conditions. I would not want Green Sans to take anything away from the main plotline, so I wouldn't be all for having him play a vital role in it or having him be a secret encounter. Something small, like a brief NPC cameo or a throwaway gag, is more what I'd be willing to agree to.

Trio Projects
I have said this before, but I do not give permission for Green Sans to be used in Trios. (or octets or duos or whatever) I say this both because I find how trios are typically handled to be uninspired and unappealing, and because Green Sans as a character would not mesh well with that type of plotline. He's not the type of guy to work well with others.

Roblox Projects
I have been involved with a good amount of Roblox projects, with Undertale: Last Corridor being the biggest example. I have also engaged with UTRP: Crossing Timelines, a roleplay game, and Forsaken (very briefly). I will consider collaborating with Roblox games on a case-by-case basis, as the platform is constantly changing and new ideas are being brought up a lot.
However, I have had a few people come to me asking if they could use Green Sans (or my other characters) in their Roblox project, and said project would still be a work in progress. I will usually tell them that I may be willing to let them add my characters upon the game's completion as a future update.

Friday Night Funkin' Mods
This one has occurred the least, but has happened nonetheless. I will not be willing to give permission to use Green Sans, but people are allowed to use him as a cameo in the background.

Large Crossover Events
Every once in a while, a large crossover event will show itself and ask for AU submissions. I usually do allow Green Sans to be included in these, and have actually submitted him myself in a few of them! Due to the nature of these having so many characters from so many different projects, their room for dialogue and interactions is either incredibly minimal to non-existent. This puts me at further ease, and can make me much more willing to let someone else use my character within their own restrictions.
other shit
Everything listed above has stemmed from my own experiences and interactions with other people, but I know there are more projects out there that don't fall into any of those categories that might wanna reach out! I'll be leaving comments on, so if you have any questions or want to know my stance on something I didn't list, feel free to do so, and I might respond!

How can I contact you, Goinks?
well, typically you can't
BUT if you go into our Discord Server and ask in the Q&A channel if you would like to speak with me about a collab, I might respond!
just be respectful about it

If you read this far, thanks! That's it for me!
