Codename: Nuclear release update

Soooo… Codename: Nuclear was released on 11 August 2015 here on GameJolt, and just 3 days have passed, but so many things have happened since then that it seems that I’m forced to update this.

First and foremost: more than 200 downloads on the first 3 days. Thanks to everyone. We hope you enjoy the game. We did our best these past 5 years for an awesome platformer experience! And remember that even more game content is coming. Only 2 out of the 4 chapters are available right now. (but hold on, those 2 first chapters have 5+ hours of gameplay!).

And thanks to that, I got some feedback, and an update solving the most common problems is on its way. It will adress the following, among others:

  • Autosave feature. Many people miss the save books completely, even though there are many of them.

  • Improved controller support. We’ll try to find a way to make more controllers compatible with the game.

  • Dialogue corrections. Some chunks of text of the game are really old, and they need some revision in order to be up to date with the new story direction of the game. Don’t worry, it’s just a couple of misleading words that have to be corrected.

  • Integrate the Gamejolt API. It seems a nice way to create a ‘trophy’ system a la Steam or Xbox 360

I don’t know how long it’s going to take to do all of this, so I can’t assure that the update will contain everything I listed. We’ll see how everything goes, and I’ll keep you all updated. What I can already say is that we programmed the autosave system yesterday, so it seems that everything is coming along!

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

not the greatest house, but it's a house! :D

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
