Concept Sketches

I discovered that I still have the conceptual sketches I drew way back in 2010 when I first started devving Suspension of Disbelief. I’ll upload those here for you to browse at your leisure.

These include sketches of the boss monsters, though, so SPOILERS AHOY unless you don’t care.

Splash screen sketches, which were actually used when I made the splash screens for the game: I “inked” and colored them in GM Paint. Or MS Paint. I forget which.

My first sketch of Sadie, which was also used in the game. Now you get to see the entire thing!

Note the sexy platform shoes.

Storyboard for the intro, which changed quite a bit visually, but the general context remained the same.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
