Cosmic Postal Services now supports Ubuntu Linux

Hi everyone

It’s been a while I really did something with creating games. But today I tought, let’s convert Cosmic Postal Services to a fully supported Ubuntu Linux game!

As you can see, I typed Ubuntu Linux game, with Ubuntu, not without. That is because I haven’t been able to test it on other distributions and I don’t know what packages you need to install (or source code you need to compile?) to get it working. But it should work out of the box when running it under Ubuntu Linux (I did a clean installation of Ubuntu this morning, just to be 100% sure!).

If you have problems with running the game under Ubuntu Linux. Don’t forget to make the runner executable. You can do this by rightclicking the runner file and click then on properties. After that go to permissions and enable the checkbox next to Allow executing file as program.

Please note that I haven’t tested Game Jolt integration yet, as Game Jolt has some connectivity issues. But I’ll test it as soon as it’s stable again and when a problem occurs I’ll upload a hotfix!

Edit: It seems like logging in and highscores are working fine!

Happy Gaming!

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
