Basically he’s stranded on Emerald Island (which is known through legend to be famous inhospitable) and creates numerous different robots from the stones, metals and emeralds the island has to stop himself from going insane (which act as the other emerald monsters). The emeralds on those circle things act as windchimes, which are the sound he makes in song.
