Day 1 Development!

Hello all and welcome to ADVENTURE JAM 2015! I’ll be your blog host, Resulka, or Nat. Lead Creative Designer at ReVenture Games.

Our beginning of Jam has gone well, We have the entire Design Plan all sorted out and divided up the work… Not so equally but we’ll talk about the choices that have lead to the majority of work sitting in my lap.

So outside of the Jam we’re currently developing our first full lenght -hopefully commercial game. In doing so I decided to utilize my long forgotten 3D skills and with the use of Mixamo services built a nice little prototype. and it’s very nice indeed… However in AGS it lags and we’re filling up our GIT storage for it with every scene added. So we’re moving to Unity and making it a fully 3d experience. So I needed more experience in making 3D Characters and environments. Hence our choice to making Live Long the Cat King with pre-rendered assets. So I can get all my standard workflows down and practiced before I start optimizing them for Unity.

At the moment I’m building the characters in a combination of Mixamo Fuse, Marvelous Designer and 3Ds Max.

Here’s some screenshots of The first day of Development…

There’s a couple more sisters to design and their mother to design. When they’re done, I’ll be building the rooms and then it’s render city!

I’ll be back tomorrow with more stuff to show!

Path of Kami: The Evolution of the Lore

I have added rewards for quests so that villagers can give you something in return for your hard work helping them. 🥳

I want to know - what's your favourite quest reward?

Family band complete!

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Showing off player 2 😎

What do you think?

Spaaaace~

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Drawn in Piskel using my mouse. Whaddya think?
