Day 151: Today, I’m sick. I warned you yesterday, that I might take some days due to inability to work. Well instead of wishing for a swift death like every time I get sick. This time I’m just mildly annoyed by the symptoms. Yes I’m more tired than usual, yes my throat is painful. But it’s in a weird state where I kinda can work, but not really too… So I did a compromise and slept a lot, but still worked. So here we are, day 151.
Daily interesting stuff:
Reddit post about a guy working for a shovelware game company. That was depressing. But the discussion was interesting.
Tasks done:
Implemented a feature where, when some things happened to the ship, you get a text feedback. For example when you take a gold going, it shows how much money the coin was worth. There’s also when you take a hit or when you take a potion. I could get in the details of how I implemented it, but it was really straight forward and I’m in some kind of sickness induced lethargy. So expect the minimum for today’s log. That you’re not reading anyway, ‘cause you don’t exist, and no one reads that.
Started making a more visual feedback of the weapon cooldown. That was something like a danger sign blinking on the player ship. But I thought it would impact visibility too much. So I ditched the feature. After all, you already have a sound feedback and the cooldown bar. Granted it’s not in the middle of the screen, but it should be sufficient.
Made the stock feedback more visible. You know the feature, every ship has a finite stock that slowly replendish in time. So you need to know how many ships left of any kind you have. There’s a text for that. But it was a small text. So I made it bigger. Oh, and when you don’t have any ship in stock, it turns red. So you’re not all like “wait WTF, why can’t I take this awesome ship?”.
Tried to not die. Did I mentioned how much I hate being sick? Well it’s awful. I didn’t do much today, but it still feels like I did an insurmountable amount of work. But hey at least I shouldn’t be late for finishing this sprint this week. Ok so kno
