This is probably my favorite iteration of Yoshi to date. He’s not combat-oriented, instead acting as support to the main fighter (we’ll get to him in a few days); he interacts better with the other characters around him, forming an iconic trio with his universe’s Sherran and Chyss; and his trauma feels the most real.

His backstory is better than the others’, too: rather than the lame “my friend died so i decided to destroy the world”, he and his friends had a chance encounter with a world-traveling alien who immediately turned to dust, so when their universe was attacked by a giant world-devouring monster not even 15 minutes later, they immediately fled, and thus became known as the World-Hoppers.

This Yoshi lacks a dark form, but his original body is identical to the others’.
