December --- Progress Report

So uhm

First time doing this, so i hope i can explain well what i have been doing

(Most people put some art in the progress report, so i decided to do this...)


Art Progress

For art there are some different things i did

I remade 2 rooms
(Start Room and Flowey's Room)

I made Toriel Talk, and Battle sprite
(Right now the battle sprite is only used in another encounter and not Toriel's)

(There are more, but it's spoilers....)

I remade the fountain sprite

(This is a fountain at the start of the RUINS and will probably be changed again)

Fun fact, For every type of Monster you "SAVE" a golden flower will appear on it.
But if you "SAVE" then kill that type of Monster, the flower will be wilting (This has no sprite yet)

And i made The LEGEND/STORY panels, that are probably not FINAL at all, and i would like if they were remade from a more talented person
(More on the LEGEND in the CODING section)


Music Pogress

The only "original" remix i could make was of the Naming screen because i have no idea of music
(also it's literally the same notes but on electric guitar)

I made a "song" but i don't know if will ever use it
One is the normal one
The other is sped up for tense moments

Then i applied filters on mus_Story (legend song) and mus_Fallen (when you meet Toriel)

But i think mus_fallen portray how this TORIEL feels
so it's all strange but kinda normal?


Coding progress

There was a MAJOR bug with the collisions that softlocked the Player
(This has been fixed)

I progressed in the "kill flowey" route, by creating the next room after the dummy

The spike maze is different and immediatly kills the player

There are three ways to avoid memorizing the pattern

  1. Pull a secret switch

  2. Use logic to find a hidden pathway

  3. Select Easy Mode in the option menu and make it so that if you already died once the spikes will be lowered

    Talking about options menu

    I am working on adding BORDERS, (more difficult that i planned) and will probably use the Console Undertale border as reference

    Then i added some accesibilities modes
    Like:

    1. Bright mode
      (Brigthens the shadows)

    2. Change the buttons instead of having only Z,X,C
      (working on adding controllers as well)

    3. Added an option to disable flashing lights
      (The only time i think there would be flashing lights would be in the Papyrus puzzle...
      But i added a name in the naming screen that flashes lights
      The name is a joke name and there is a low chance of writing it)

Then i made it so that Flowey always faces the character

In summary

I created some sprites, music and added the legend + one room.
But i don't know how fast i can do this on my own.
