First off, a huge thank you to everyone who has showed an interest in the game – even just by following us, you’re encouraging us to make the project more refined and worthy of your time. We’re immensely proud of the following we have so far, and the game, which has now been in continual development since its inception in June last year, couldn’t have gotten off to a better start.
However, being just two people – one (Tom) making all the content, the other simply to help with ideas and admin (Will) :P we’re under immense pressure to put out the game on time and to a quality standard. Our ideas have literally been run aground over the past few months – I’ve been working flat out, but it’s simply not enough. The last thing I wanted to do was delay but I’m afraid it has come to that. Admittedly it was my fault for setting myself such an ambitious deadline for my first project, but I firmly believe that by relinquishing my initial promise of May, I can actually start to work with passion again, doing what I can, when I can and this I think will free up my creativity and allow me to work on the project in a much more productive way – without the deadline pressure that I will no doubt have to get used to as an indie dev.
I sincerely hope that this news does not dismay you too much – the game has not been shelved, this is not an indefinite delay – only one or two months maximum! Count it in weeks if you like! :)
I know a lot of people have been getting ready and are looking forward to the game’s release, but I have to ask you to please be patient, and I promise that this extra time spent will be worth the wait! The game will no doubt undergo serious expansion and improvement during this time.
What’s more, I fully intend to make good on my promises to release more content – I really mean to do it, it’s just there’s so much to do! So, in the next few weeks, I will try my hardest to get some more screenshots to you, as well as those fabled Soundtrack previews and possibly another few trailers! Much shorter but Narrative-centered ones. It’s an expansive world we’ve created as indie horrors go, and we’re thoroughly proud of it – we can’t wait for the moment when we release it, but I know I’d far rather release a product that’s as good as it can be than a hashed, half-finished pile of mush. This doesn’t help anyone, and it certainly does not do justice to the amount of work that I’ve poured into it.
I hope you all understand, and we hope to be giving some much better news very soon!
Tom & Will.
