Deluxe is going in a different direction

hey everyone. I know I've been mostly silent on this game for a little over half a year, but I wanted to make a public update on some things going forward.

I started to realize that I started changing the game... a bit too much? It started to not even feel like the same game or characters, so I wanted to take a bit of a step back and think it through.

The game is still going to have a re-done story and other things to fit the game itself better

I'm going to be honest, the story wasn't my main focus on the original Yap and Yell, which is why it can feel a bit random and unexplained at times, which I plan to make very differently. The story is also no longer going to be connected to the actual Five Nights at Freddy's games, and will be more of its own thing (sorry Vanessa).

So what's this new direction?

Well... I decided I want to make the art style somewhat faithful to the original game, so everything is most likely going to be based on the established designs from the original game, but a bit more polished and updated (instead of the previous idea which was re-imagining every single character).

Because of this, I am going to have to start all over again (but don't be worried by that, ever since I learned Unity, I realized I can make a game like this a bit faster compared to ClickTeam, because I don't have to sit around waiting for things to render.)

Anything else?

Well, a few things actually.

There's a reasoning for the name "Deluxe"

"Deluxe" implies there's more than just the base game... what could that mean...? Only time will tell I guess.

DISCLAIMER (AND A MESSAGE):

Yap and Yell is not my main project, and so I will still probably not post about the game too often (so sorry if I don't end up talking about it again for another half a year). But I also want people to know that this isn't the only thing I've been working on.

You may know that I've been working on more original projects that are more in line to what I usually do.

Well, I know that some of my audience mainly followed me for Yap and Yell, and whether or not they're interested in my original projects, I've actually been adding references here and there in them, just to show that I'm very thankful that this game, and the people who loved it have really helped me grow as a developer.

I'm going to be honest, I never expected Yap and Yell to get the attention it did, let alone have its own little fanbase! And while it was not one of my main projects, it did a lot for me, and those who played it.

Thank you for reading! See you all next time!
