Hello there, supporters of my little game-demo-thing!
Prince Vade here, I wanted to go ahead and release a little update now that the demo has been out for some time. This update will basically de conclusive to what I’ll be doing regarding that “demo” status I have up, and what features I have in the process of creation.
—Firstly, the status of the game. I’ve marked the game as “demo” because I didnt know what to do with it. I found this really basic project awhile back from my first shot at programming in XNA 2 years ago. Currently, I still plan to keep playing, mostly because I think the lack of attention/downloads may be due to both its “demo” status and the games XNA framework. That being said, I will be deciding later on, maybe after the 3rd or 4th set of stages whether to move this game off gamejolt and onto a site that allows me to gain some solid moneitary value (0.5 usd, nothing more per download), or keep it on gamejolt, and find a donation button somewhere, so the good people that play my game can donate. Moving on now.
—Upcoming features are a big part of development! I have some features planned for the next distribution. Before I start my list, I’ll begin by saying that with every features update, I’ll be adding at minimum, 1 set. If you’re asking yourself what a set is, I’ll explain:
A set is what I refer to as 3 levels, with a shop break between them, and a big boss.
A level is what I refer to as a collection of 3 waves, without a shop break, and a mini-boss.
A wave is what I refer to as a collection of enemies that appear on the screen at once, waves can have bosses, but don’t always.
Moving on to the good stuff, features I have planned:
-A survival mode, an endless horde mode, etc, but I call it an “Endure Mode.”
“Endure Mode” is an endless survival challenge mode.
This mode will have no shops
This mode will have “drop-down” weapons, enchancements, etc.
High Scores for the highest score for an increment of time.
For example, the highest score after playing for 5 minutes won’t compete with the highest score after playing for 15.
-Enemy drops, enhancements or supplements that fall after defeating an enemy
· Chances for each dropdown will be varying, based on the enemy type being fought.
· “Score++”: a drop meant to increase score by a small amount.
· “Shield++”: a drop that will increase the current shield value.
· “Damage++”: a drop meant to increase the damage of the player’s current weapon by a small amount.
-Lastly and, unfortunately, not a feature: Shield Regeneration will be removed.
· I’ve noticed that the Shield Regeneration makes the game fairly… easy when abused, no matter how long the intervals are.
That concludes this news post/update about StarFury.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for playing.
