In this devlog we will be talking about battle bars, which in Undertale there are four ( Fight, Act, Item, Mercy ). Except, Demontale has six battle bars instead ( Battle, Act, Heal, Retreat, Yield, and Skip. ( The Image Included Is Just A Sample And The Real Version Has Better Quality )

Firstly, the Battle bar it has some simularities from the Fight bar from Undertale. Instead of skipping straight to the fight meter, you get to choose a weapon. And if you just started the game, your starting weapon will be a pocket knife. Now the attacks that you choose have different cursor speeds, the less damage attacks have slower speed which makes it fairly easy to hit the middle. However, strong attacks with more damage have faster speeds which makes it more difficult to hit the middle with the cursor.
Secondly, the Act bar lets you choose between different acts. Most act options will be Socialize, Compliment, Boast, Threaten, and Terrify. Most demons will get mad if you choose to boast or threaten them.
Thirdly, the Heal bar is of course healing, similar to the Item bar in Undertale. Except, since this game is a little harder and you lose HP very often. There is bites, so if you choose a sandwich you can choose to bite, and have 2 bites left.
Fourthly, the Retreat bar is used for when you want to flee. This bar may not always be an option in most battles, so it will rather be covered in cracks, etc.
Fifthly, the Yield bar means you surrender. So this is a new bar that you normally don’t have in Undertale. Now, what does it do? Well its actually pretty obvious, you surrender and the demon takes something that Undertale definitely does not have. When you Yield the demon adds sins to your ” account ” . ( Explaining sins in another devlog ).
Sixthly, the Skip bar. This bar is quite simple really, all it does it just skip your turn and let the demon attack you, kind of useless, but you never know when you might need a Skip.
