Hey there welcome to the first dev log.
It's now been a few hours since I opened the game page so I thought that I'd be best to make a dev log already so here we go.
But firstly let me tell you how this game began, it's a very short story actually, so basically one day I was like "Hey guys, what if maniac mania but widescreen" so I made that a reality in a span of few hours. It came out really well so I wanted to keep going, until I decided to recreate the entire thing. And after a bit I decided to make it better and not just a lame recreation, (even tho it still kinda is a recreation just with way more content), so then I started contacting some OG Maniac Mania devs if they wanted to help me reach that goal, and surprisingly a big chunk of them agreed to help. And now we're here, so yeah that's the story.
Now onto the good stuff, some of you might be asking what's new here well there's a lot to go through.
One of those things is new mechanics like battery in the repair panel

So it's now more fnas 3 ish
And another new mechanic being the side vents having doors which was actually scrapped in the og maniac mania apparently, but sadly that is now also scrapped here because we just couldn't make it work with the new gameplay idea


As you might have seen on the 2nd screenshot, the map has been changed a bit, for "reasons" like the ceiling vent having 2 entrances now, and also added the fnas 4 curtain behind you in the office, we're still unsure how we'll make other characters behave there but nightmare tails will act there the exact same like in fnas 4, currently we're planning to put there also plushnic & plushtails (this might change later) and maybe also phantom salvage sonic.
There's also 3 new characters being added that are from the fnas 6 cast, and that is Lefty Sonic, Righty Sonic, and slightly altered golden sonic which now is 21 (21' Golden Sonic)

There is also some cut content from og maniac mania which from what I currently remember is luigikid (I forgot the rest. I'll list the other things in the next dev log)
And the last thing I'm gonna include in this dev log is new mechanics that will be given to some characters.
Many characters got their mechanic's altered to make the game loop better and not clogged too much on one mechanic
For example I'll list 3 characters that will have their mechanic changed
17' Golden Sonic will now not react to the mask, instead you gotta boop his nose to make him go away, alternatively you can pull off a fnas 5 on him to make him go away too (if some of you don't get it I mean pulling up the camera panel in front of him)
Nightmares will now have 2 door phases, 1st phase is when they show up, in the 1st phase they will not leave if you'll close the door on them, after a few seconds they will go to the 2nd phase which where their eyes will begin to flicker from red to white, that is an indicator that they are in their 2nd phase and they are ready to attack, that is when you can close the door to send them away
Shadow sonic will now limit you from using the mask too much by slowly making the screen darker, if you keep the mask for too long he'll kill you, he also wonders around the map until he reaches the left hall, where then he will go to the middle, at that stage you will be able to see him through the dark, to get rid of him just use your flashlight until he goes away. He also still hogs the cameras

There is way more that I'd want to share but I'll leave that for other dev logs, so yeah that's all so far.
