We are back finally continuing the development of Crawl Space!
Since the last time I’ve added heaps of new particle effects we have now
Footprints
Idle Animations
Teleportation Particles
Enemy bullets now drop little particles of “drool”
Player sprite has a blinking animation
All enemies have blinking animations
You might be wondering why development paused for the last 3-4 monthes or so, That’s because Uni started back up again but right now I have a nice 3 week holiday that I intend to devote mostly to working on Crawl Space so if all goes to plan we might see a release date on the horizon soon!

Some awesome and not so awesome things in this week of development so far.
I tried to change the movement system of the game to be different (Still would be just as smooth but would allow for more control) However it proved to be very difficult without rewriting 80% of the games code so I ended up reverting back to the original movement system, Future games will use a better way of moving though so don’t worry about that.
Spent a while trying to figure out how to make the teleportation particle effect work properly by using draw_sprite_part_ext which is a built in function of Game Maker Studio that can draw a part of a sprite we do this for each pixel of the sprite and give its position a slight variation within a range of two values.
Spent about half a day tweaking the footprints to make them look just right in the end I had a friend give me some advice on how to make it look more realistic compared to just looking wrong (The less straight they are placed the better!).
