Hi all, this is going to be the last dev log for a while. I'm planning on updating the game-page and just working on the game until I'm at a place where I'm happy with it.
As for the QnA, I want everyone that sees this to comment what your GRIPES or things you think are NEGATIVE with DUSTTALE: I miss you, you can list any negatives you want, whether it be with me or the game or the games story, etc.. I', looking to make improvements anywhere I can, I also just want some general feedback I can work off of.
Gamepage Update:
As you can see, some of the gamepage has been updated, while it's not fully done yet, our new artist SKID-CD has been a massive help giving this game a unique art style. I plan to use Gamejolt a lot less soon and just give out little updates every now and then in big chunks rather than stretch them thin with little updates every other week.
Progress:
Progress has been alright, nothing crazy but the game looks better every chance I work on it. Me and Malk have been working on a bunch of optimization/cleaning up stuff to make the game run and load better, also general improvements to the game engine itself. This type of work benefits massively but I can't really show engine improvements like how I can with overworld, battles, etc..
Along with those improvements and optimizations, I’ve brought on SharkyLeo and StressTown to help write dialog since I'm pretty terrible at it. The game’s story is completely finished now, most of DUSTTALE up to this point was just idea’s cobbled together, I’ve re-written a bunch to make it feel more organized and actually have a story.
Acts one and two have gotten the most love recently, with most of the team’s work going into them alone. Sans and Papyrus’s battles are starting to look and feel way better now that I'm finally getting to fleshing them out. I'm really happy with how they’ve improved over the past year or so. Papyrus's fight is definitely my favorite fight so far, his new sprites really breathe a lot more character into the guy.
End:
All in all the games going well, development is just slow. I like to take my time with stuff like this, and more importantly, give all my team members ample time to create stuff. Being a stick up the ass to your team members is never a good idea. Anyway, answer the QnA please, I'll see you all soon.
